Assistant Minister McBride to open MM2025 as final program revealed

Dynamic conference program is fully populated with only two weeks until close of Early Bird registrations.

With just over two months until Medicines Management 2025 (MM2025) returns to Melbourne for the first time in a decade, Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) has today unveiled the full conference program, including opening of proceedings by the Hon. Emma McBride MP FANZCAP (Lead&Mgmt, MentalHlth) in the day one plenary on Friday 28 November.

The dynamic program features over 100 sessions, workshops and presentations and more than 340 posters catering for more than 1,100 pharmacy professionals expected at this years’ event being held at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre 27-29 November.

MM2025 will be headlined by keynote speakers Dr Sandro Demaio, Joel Pearson, and Jana Pittman, and will feature compelling insights into Alzheimer's disease, end-of-life care medicines management and key areas of Aged Care including the Aged Care Onsite Pharmacist (ACOP) care model and family engagement of older adults’ medicines. The program also explores trauma-informed care, pharmacogenomics in transplant, drug dosing in obesity as well as future-focused AI sessions covering human-centred leadership, deprescribing and productivity, among many more.

AdPha Vice President Dr Kate O’Hara FANZCAP (Neonatol., Paeds) says it is particularly meaningful to have the Assistant Minister officiate this year’s opening.

‘As a hospital pharmacist herself and a long-time AdPha member, the Hon. Emma McBride embodies the unique bridge between clinical practice and health leadership.

‘Her voice on mental health and regional health equity is more important than ever, and we are proud to welcome her to the MM2025 stage.’

Dr O’Hara says the program for AdPha’s 49th national conference promises to be one of the strongest in its history.

‘From world-class keynote speakers to cutting-edge science and practical innovations, MM2025 will showcase the best of pharmacy leadership, research and practice.

‘We’re also particularly proud to offer over 200 opportunities to first-time presenters.

‘Medicines Management is where it all happens, emerging researchers make their mark, established leaders push the boundaries of innovation and the future of advanced pharmacy takes shape.’

With early bird registrations closing Thursday 2 October, Dr O’Hara encouraged anyone yet to register not to miss out.

‘Things are now well in motion for MM2025 with final planning and preparations well underway to deliver one of our most spectacular events yet.

’The buzz, the learning, the connections — it’s unlike any other event in pharmacy. If you’ve ever thought of coming, make 2025 the year you do.’

MM2025 Early Bird registrations close 11.59pm AEST Thursday 2 October.
