Respect and Safety Guidelines

Our commitment

AdPha Connect is a professional space built for pharmacy professionals to network, share, and grow together. These guidelines exist to ensure AdPha Connect remains a respectful, inclusive, and valuable environment for every member. By participating in AdPha Connect, you agree to uphold the principles outlined in these guidelines in all your interactions.

  1. Be professional and respectful

AdPha Connect is a professional networking platform. We ask that all interactions - whether in your profile, your connection requests, or your direct messages - reflect the professional standards you would apply in any workplace or professional setting.

  • Treat every member with courtesy and respect, regardless of their background, role, or experience level
  • Disagree constructively - differences of professional opinion are welcome, personal attacks are not
  • Be mindful that members come from a wide range of career stages, specialties, and personal circumstances
  1. Be honest and accurate

The value of AdPha Connect depends on members being who they say they are.

  • Ensure your profile information is accurate and kept up to date
  • Do not misrepresent your qualifications, role, or experience
  1. Respect privacy
  • Do not share another member's personal or contact information outside of AdPha Connect without their consent
  • Do not screenshot or reproduce private messages without the consent of the other member
  • Be thoughtful about the information you share about third parties - colleagues, patients, or organisations - in your messages and profile content
  1. Keep it relevant and purposeful

AdPha Connect is designed for professional networking, mentoring, and relationship building within the pharmacy profession. Please use it accordingly.

  • Send connection requests to members with a genuine professional purpose
  • Do not use AdPha Connect for unsolicited commercial or promotional activity
  • Do not use Direct Messaging to send bulk, repetitive, or irrelevant communications
  1. Mentoring relationships

If you have indicated that you are open to mentoring, we ask that you engage in any mentoring relationships with commitment and care.

  • Be responsive to mentoring requests in a reasonable timeframe
  • Be clear about your availability and boundaries from the outset
  • If your circumstances change and you are no longer able to participate in a mentoring relationship, communicate this respectfully and update your mentoring preferences in your profile
  1. Zero tolerance

The following behaviours are not acceptable under any circumstances and will result in moderation action up to and including permanent deactivation of your AdPha Connect profile:

  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any member
  • Discrimination on the basis of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic
  • Sharing of explicit, offensive, or harmful content
  • Sharing of content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
  • Any activity that is unlawful under Australian or New Zealand law
  1. Reporting concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour that you believe breaches these Respect and Safety Guidelines, please report it using the Report function within Direct Messages or by contacting AdPha directly via the Contact AdPha function found in your Settings.

AdPha takes all reports seriously. Reports are reviewed by the AdPha administration team and handled confidentially. You will be notified when your report has been reviewed and an outcome determined.

  1. A note on wellbeing

The pharmacy profession can be demanding. We encourage members to engage with AdPha Connect in a way that supports rather than adds to their workload. If you need a break, use the Pause function to let your connections know you are temporarily unavailable. Your profile remains active and you can return when you are ready.

If you are experiencing difficulties beyond the platform, AdPha encourages you to reach out to appropriate professional support services. Information is also available via the AdPha Wellbeing Hub.

  1. Keeping these guidelines current

These Respect and Safety Guidelines will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect the evolving needs of the AdPha Connect community. Members will be notified of any material changes and asked to re-acknowledge the updated guidelines before continuing to use AdPha Connect.

If you have questions about these guidelines, please contact the AdPha team via the submit feedback function within AdPha Connect or to membership@adpha.au.
